A new study performed in collaboration with Prof. Hiroshi Handa, Tokyo Medical University, and others has been published in
Scientific Reports. In this study, we carried out genetic screening to elucidate the mechanism of anti-cancer activity of thalidomide derivatives on multiple myeloma. We found that subcellular distribution of CRBN, the primary target of thalidomide and its derivatives, is critical for the efficacy of thalidomide-based medications.
