The results of our joint research with Associate Professor Okuda and Professor Nishimura at Yokohama City University were published in Nucleic Acids Research on July 16. Mr. Suwa, a graduate student, is the co-first author. This is the first study to show that a naturally degenerate region common to three types of RNA polymerases interacts with TFIIH and is involved in transcription and nucleotide excision repair of all RNA polymerases, and was selected as a Breakthrough Article (top 2 to 3% of published articles) in the journal.
